Privacy policy

Last updated 15 October 2026.

This policy covers the DupeTidy add-on for Google Sheets and this website. DupeTidy is run by an independent developer ("we" below), not by Google.

What the add-on can access

DupeTidy asks Google for these permissions:

Your spreadsheet data

DupeTidy reads the rows and columns you choose so it can find duplicates. That processing happens in Google Apps Script, on Google's servers, under your Google account. We don't copy your spreadsheet data to any server of ours, and we never see it. The add-on only changes your sheet when you tell it to, for example when you confirm which duplicates to remove or merge.

What gets sent outside Google

Only your licence key, if you enter one. When you activate Pro, the add-on sends the key and DupeTidy's product ID to Gumroad's licence verification API (https://api.gumroad.com/v2/licenses/verify) to check that it's valid. Nothing from your spreadsheet is included. Gumroad handles that request under its own privacy policy: gumroad.com/privacy. If you never enter a key, the add-on makes no outside calls.

What we store

The add-on saves your licence key and whether it was valid (plus when it was last checked) in Apps Script user properties. That storage belongs to your Google account and only the add-on, running as you, can read it. We don't keep a copy.

If you buy a Pro licence, Gumroad processes the payment and shares the usual order details with us as the seller: your email address, what you bought and when. We use that only to deliver the licence, answer support requests and meet tax and accounting rules.

What we don't do

Google user data

DupeTidy's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing your data

Uninstall the add-on from Sheets (Extensions, then Add-ons, then Manage add-ons), and you can remove its access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. For Gumroad purchase records, contact us through the contact page and we'll delete what we hold unless the law requires us to keep it.

Website

This site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log basic request data such as IP addresses to run and protect the service. We don't add anything on top of that.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date. If an update needs new Google permissions, Google will ask you to approve them again before the add-on can use them.

Questions: see the contact page.
